Highlights

Highlights are sections or strands of hair that are dyed a few shades lighter than your base color. The main purpose of adding highlights to your hair is to brighten up the overall color of your hair and add softness and dimension to it.

FULL HIGHLIGHT

A full highlight consists of foiling the entire head. This accomplishes the most brightness globally, and is usually preferred for anyone who wears their hair up. This will eliminate the dark nape against a bright front when wearing your hair in a pony tail, bun, or updo.  A full highlight or balayage is also the way to go if you are trying to go lighter. You will tackle all of the hair at the same time to ensure the best chance for all the hair to lift to the same tonality after each session.

Partial Highlight

A partial highlight includes the sides, top, and crown of the head. It does not include the nape (lower back part of the head). This is great for anyone who loves a very dimensional highlight, or is trying to grow out their hair. You can still get all the brightness on top and in front while leaving the back as healthy as possible thus growing faster without drying out or breaking.
